She & Him

Nothing makes me happier than discovering a good album. So after spilling coffee all over, locking myself out, & stumbling over a presentation like a bumbling child just hitting puberty, I was more than thrilled to realize that the new 'She & Him' album had been released.

For those of you unaware, 'She & Him' is a collaboration band by the amazing & talented M. Ward & Zoey Deschanel. I first fell in love with them 2 years ago when their first album came out & are thrilled that they have reunited for a second. Their sound has a definite older, more retro feel to it. Like something you'd hear from the 50's or 60's. It never fails to cheer me up & is a perfect new spring album.

Liberty For All!

This past week it has been gorgeous out. It's really been giving me spring fever and along with that, a huge craving for a new spring wardrobe. Now before I go any further let me be clear. I am not very girly by nature. However, I do have my moments. And apparently this last week has been one big girly moment.

Anyway, a few days ago my roommate & I went to Target. It was there that I discovered my new obsession: Liberty of London. Liberty is a brand that recently released a collection of items (both clothing & housewares) for Target stores. It's style is very bright and chic. The prints remind me of something from the 60's. It's so happy a cheerful. A real treat after such a dreary winter.

The shirt I bought from the collection:

The collection is so popular its selling out insanely fast. I believe it came out Monday and by Tuesday when my roommate & I went a lot was already sold out. To check out the full collection [or what's left of it] check out here.

Happy Green Beer & Shamrocks Day!

So yesterday my roommate & I went out searching for St. Patty's Day decorations for our suite. Sadly, there were none to be found. All the stores were already getting their Easter stuff out. Not to be stopped however we decided to make our own. So last night she and I sat on the floor of our common room and cut out cute little shamrocks [all while watching The Princess and the Frog]. We're still finishing hanging them but I just thought I'd post a picture of the loviliness in progress.

I'll try to remember to post more later once it's complete... provided i haven't started drink by then. No promises! : )

Hope everyone has a good saint patrick's day! : )

Hippos are the Opposite of Flyable

This is the story of how hippos came to be catapulted.

One night so very long ago [and by long ago I mean two days ago] this blog was without a name. A friend of mine & myself were discussing potential ideas for what to call it. My first idea was 'Awkward Hippo' but I quickly changed my mind & decided I wanted something to do with rocket ships. To which, my friend replied, "well that's completely different! hippos are the exact opposite of flyable!" I responded with: "not if you use a catapult." Thus, Catapulting Hippos was born.

On a related side note, until a couple hours ago catapulting was spelled wrong due to my failure at spelling when sleepy & my friends failure to notice it was spelled wrong... even when i asked her. Oh well!

The Beginning Of the End... Or the End of the Beginning? Let's Just Call It Armageddon

The first posting on a new blog...

There is so much pressure when writing your first post as a new blogger. [And not just from the roomie next door yelling at me to hurry up.] What I write here will forever set the tone of the blog. The first post shows just what type of blog it will be, what the readers [all 2.25 of you!] should expect henceforth.

I think the standards have just been lowered.

No, on second thought, they were never that high to begin with.
